Watch Top Film Magazine interview Ollie Matthews. Ollie gives us an insight into what it was like to be apart of the first issue of the magazine. He also tells us about his new film called "Rescue," which will be in cinemas this summer!
25 questions with Ollie Matthews
Ollie plays the protagonist in the film "Rescue." He plays a character called Oscar Castillo, who rescues a vulnerable hostage from the evil terrorist organisation "WPI." We all know Ollie from his previous role in Fast and Furious 10" and know that his enthusiasm for this genre of film always delivers! This film is not to be missed check out what happened when we caught up with Ollie.
1. We really enjoyed the film, as usual your stunts look amazing, I know you like to perform these yourself, did you get the chance in Rescue or did you have to surrender to a stunt double at all?
No i was lucky enough to be able to do them myself, although there were a few scary moments in some of the chases!
2. Sounds dangerous, tell me more, have you been injured on set, or had a stunt go wrong?
There have been a few close encounters but luckily no major injuries (touches wood!) I nearly crashed the car on countless occasions!
3. What inspired you to get into acting?
I just knew from an early age that I was never going to have a conventional job, I couldn't sit still long enough in school and was always in detention, my drama teacher spotted something in me and helped me channel all that energy into something more useful! Thankfully it seems to have worked out OK!
4. What attracts you to a new script / project?
The pay cheque (laughs). No seriously, I read a lot of scripts and sometimes you just know that it’s gonna be something special.
5. Are you worried about being typecast as you’ve played a lot of action hero’s now, any plans to branch out?
No I’m happy with what I know for now, who knows maybe I’ll change when I can’t keep up with the stunts anymore but for now I’m good!
6. How does your family feel about you putting yourself in all these dangerous situations?
My Mum isn’t happy! She likes me to call or text her at the end of each days shoot just to show I’m still alive!
7. Is there anyone on your bucket list that you would particularly like to work with?
Oh man…I have a long list! Tom Cruise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Rock, to name a few!
8. Do you have a favourite film?
I love the James Bond films
9. Who is your favourite Bond?
For me, it has to be Daniel Craig!
10. If that call came, could you see yourself playing Bond?
Oh my goodness! Of course, who wouldn't want to play such an iconic role!
11. You have to travel a lot for work, what are your top travel tips?
I always just drink lots of water to stay hydrated but I don't really have any travel tips. I bring my favourite snacks from home but that’s it really.
12. Can you speak any other languages?
No, I struggle with english (laughs). As I said earlier school was not my strong point!
13. We spoke to Lucy earlier, what was she like as a co-star?
She was a dream to work with, always on time and professional…I guess those gruelling soap schedules have given her a great work ethic.
14. We asked Lucy what the first thing she does in the morning and she admitted to being a social media addict. What about yourself, what’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
I think most of the population pick up their phone first thing! Checking emails mostly for me!
15. Ok now for some quick fire facts; Winter or summer?
Winter for me! I can’t cope in the heat!
16. Favourite food?
I love a big fat burger

Takeaway
18. Good film or good book?
A good action film for me!
19. Going out or staying in?
Going out…I want an adventure

22. Anything you really want to achieve in the next few years?
Just to keep working, would be amazing!
23. What is your favourite country to visit?
I love America - the burgers get me everytime!
24. Do you have a hidden talent?
None that I can think of…that’s bad isn't it?!
25. Finally, how do you want to be remembered?
For being a good guy and fearless!
